I love the conversation that occurs between Tim Keller, D.A Carson, and John Piper as they discuss the importance of application and understanding of culture and historicity. Essentially, as students of God’s Word we need to have an understanding of the cultural climate that is occurring to understand the writing and intended meaning of the author. A clear understanding of the cultural and historical landscape allows us to connect the dots in our sermon and teaching preparation.
