And you are so right, it is a discussion, not a blanket statement.

I firmly believe that we, as Christians, are free to pick up the books we want to read, secular or Christian. And I agree that each person has to decide what the line is they will stay in when it comes to books – and that line is very personal. It’s like alcohol – it isn’t in itself a bad thing, yet there are some who should decide to avoid it completely while others can enjoy a glass or two a day in a healthy manner.

I also believe that secular books can allow Christians to have conversations with not-yet-believers on topics they are comfortable with and work up to more serious Gospel topics without sounding fake and aggressive.
